Sometimes you just have to watch something because you are trying to figure out what it is saying, what it means. Sometimes you just watch something because it is visual interesting and, for lack of a more expansive phrase, because it is fun. That is what I did with “Rust.” Came across this at Yourmachinima.com. It was fun. ;-)

To get a break from editing interviews I often wander the grid and simply take in the beauty of it all!
Hence this occasional new series: raw, unedited [for the most part] simply to make them mouths water…
Today: Rust by Cica Ghost – stunning & simply stunning…
Even if you ONLY HAVE 15 minutes to get in-world NOW & EXPERIENCE for yourself!

A simple, beautiful melody and a simple animation style makes a wonderful film. Well done.

The Liminal from Adam Felchner on Vimeo.

I found this short film mysteriously soothing and beautiful. Very well done.

The Liminal is a personal short film that I’ve been working on in my spare time over the last two years. It started as some simple shots I thought about while on my daily commute. But, then it developed in to a full animated short that I modeled, textured, animated, and edited.

A short film by Adam Felchner.

I love this! Very catchy. This could be the dance tune battle anthem for all nerds seeking to right the wrongs of an entire lifetime! Rally to the tune!

LYRICS:
1ST VERSE:
Oh, no. Don’t pretend I didn’t see
You roll your eyes at my gaming tee
Don’t know if you can read or if you’ve seen
The sweet piece in this week’s Wired magazine
The latest trend has hit its peak
They say that geek’s becomin’ chic
So now you’re out of style as you can be
And I’m in vogue, so you can bite me

To all the ass-hat jocks who beat me up in school
Now I’m the one that’s cool
I’m the one that’s cool
To all the prom queen bitches thinking they still rule
Now I’m the one that’s cool
I’m the one that’s cool

2ND VERSE:
Try to cop my style but I’m the real thing
While you played sports, I played Magic the Gathering
See you pose a part of nerd society
My Aquaman pajamas prove my pedigree
Star Trek: Next Gen every night
Wore a headgear to fix my overbite
Your black-rimmed glasses are prescription free, where as me
I literally can’t see my hand in front of my face

To all the asshat jocks who beat me up in school
Now I’m the one that’s cool
I’m the one that’s cool
To all the prom queen bitches thinking they still rule
Now I’m the one that’s cool
I’m the one that’s cool
And to my eighth-grade crush who pushed me in the pool
Now I’m the one that’s cool
I’m the one that’s cool
You may be tan and fit and rich but you’re a tool
And I’m the one that’s cool
I’m the one that’s cool

3RD VERSE:
Role reversal must be a total drag
But there’s no point, no point for me to humblebrag
I appreciate you for being cruel
I’m burning bright thanks to your rejection fuel
Got my in-jokes you won’t get
Like Honey Badger, Troll Face and Nyan Cat
So now your ballin’ parties seem so dumb
You can Evite me, and I’ll say yes, but I won’t really come

Got my comics
Got my games
All the things you thought were lame
Got my cosplay
Fanfic too
Got you pegged
STFU You?
CHORUS

Audiosocket has announced that it has been selected by video sharing site Vimeo for the Vimeo Music Store. The Vimeo Music Store is a fully integrated, custom-designed music licensing solution that leverages Audiosocket’s Music as a Service (MaaS™) platform, delivering Audiosocket’s catalog of pre-cleared music to the Vimeo community. Vimeo’s filmmakers can now search for, discover, and license songs for non-commercial or limited commercial purposes.

Audiosocket purpose-built the MaaS platform to make it frictionless for any digital media company to plug in and easily search, discover and license music. Vimeo is the first commercial implementation of MaaS, the world’s first fully integrated and search-able music library with 100+ categories of integrated metadata, localized to the Vimeo platform.

“We chose Audiosocket for the Vimeo Music Store because of the company’s powerful technology solution, and its rich curated roster of music from emerging artists,” said Dae Mellencamp, GM, Vimeo. “With innovative licensing models, and a catalog of high-quality music with over 33K songs, Vimeo users can select and license the song that best fits their production, and distribute it over the web, and at film festivals.”

“The Vimeo Music Store allows filmmakers to finally tackle one of the greatest challenges for any indie filmmaker: To make music licensing easy, accessible and affordable,” said Jesse Harris, Director Jesse Harris Films and founder of National Film Festival for Talented Youth. “Most up-and-coming filmmakers don’t even know where to start when it comes to music licensing. Audiosocket’s technology and vast library of talented artists have made finding music for my projects a breeze. Being able to now do it all via Vimeo, a site I use every day, will only make it easier.”

The Vimeo Music Store delivers many benefits for Audiosocket’s music artists, including better distribution, guaranteed royalty payments on licensed music and broad exposure to a global audience of more than 50M monthly unique visitors, including many of the best amateur content creators as well as professional filmmakers.

“We think this is a huge opportunity for the Vimeo community, and for Audiosocket artists,” said Brent McCrossen, CEO, Audiosocket. “Vimeo’s music store allows our artists to make money where they haven’t historically: Personal video creation. MaaS introduces a new way for indie musicians to gain exposure and monetize their work, and we believe Vimeo is the perfect launch partner.”

Un clip réalisé au studio par Xavier Comor en 2011 avec l’aide de Mariana Falé, Maxime Lelièvre et Cédric Maire.

A video directed by Xavier Comor the studio in 2011 with the help of Mariana Fale, Maxime Lelièvre and Cedric Mayor.

My French is more than a little rusty, but the style of animation and the beat of the music was too much to resist. The brief salute to “The Prisoner,” starting at about 1:15 into the film, also scored points from me. ;-)

Directed by Reuben Sutherland.

Yep, I like both the music and the video for this one. Kind of a retro style animation. Good stuff.

You Can’t Teach An Old Dog New Tricks is the title track from Steve’s brand new album – which features John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin and Them Crooked Vultures on bass guitar.

Some great banjo music, Steve Martin humor, a few not quite dirty innuendos and some very strange animation… what more can we ask for!?

I have to admit that ever since I saw this video weeks ago I have had a hard time getting the image of Steve Martin as a bird outta my head. It isn’t too bad until it happens at 3 or 4 in the morning. Then, laying in the dark… all alone… only the sound of your own breathing can be heard… it creeps the hell out of you.

Seriously, if you have not listened to any of Steve Martin’s music in the past, take the time. Down home and entertaining.
