Casting Bits

- Viggo Mortensen has agreed to portray Sigmund Freud in David Cronenberg’s “The Talking Cure.” He joins Keira Knightley and Michael Fassbender.

- Katherine Heigl has reportedly been released from her Grey’s Anatomy contract and will not return to the show. Apparently, the producer decided it was better if she left now instead of the end of the season.

- Alan Tudyk, formerly of ‘Firefly,’ will join Dermot Mulroney in the television remake of ‘The Rockford Files.’ At least something good has come of this. Tudyk also had recurring roles on ‘Dollhouse’ and ‘V.’

- They may not have a hero yet, but the producers of ‘The First Avenger: Captain America’ may have a villain. Hugo Weaving is reported to be the choice for Red Skull.
