Yes, basically a promotional animation for a book that has been out nearly two years. As with the book itself, beautifully done. And in just three weeks… while learning the software… first attempt at Toon Boom… wow!

Do you know why Rex immediately endeared himself to me? His face. His expressions. Just three weeks with the software and Michel has already got what many animators never get… lovingly expressive faces. Yes, I understand that Michel is no rookie, but even while experimenting with new software he still captured the character. He still brought the character to life. The face, the fluid movement… he nailed it. I love this short little promo and would love to see “The Saga of Rex” brought to the screen in a full-length film.

My Toon Boom test done single-handedly in 3 weeks while learning the software. I will have a thorough review in a few days.

Aardman Animations has boosted its grass-roots animation brand with a fantastic new Animate It! app which launches in the iTunes App Store for just $2.99.

This simple, easy to use app will have you creating your own stop-motion animations on the go in no time. Perfect for any budding young animator!

It includes fantastic features and tools to bring your subjects to life, allowing you to edit and watch your animation whilst making it, a time lapse feature and variable frame rates to achieve a smooth animation style. Users can copy, paste and even reverse sequences and edit by deleting and reordering frames. Within the app there is also an informative help manual and the option to export your animation files in HD so you can share them with family, friends and fellow animators!

The Animate It! team enlisted the help of two animation fans to create a video to demonstrate the simplicity of the software, shot entirely on an iPad using Animate It!

I have read/experienced the “Casablanca” Inside the Script book and loved it. “Casablanca” is my favorite film, yet I was able to discover things about it and its stars I was not previously aware of. I usually do not like playing hawker, but I thoroughly enjoyed the “Casablanca” Inside the Script and have “Ben Hur” waiting in the wings.
